Godzilla (2014) Commentary

#21 The Monster Mash series rounds out to a new milestone, as Isaac, Eric and Caleb finish out their first era in the Godzilla canon as they cover their last entry from Legendary's Monsterverse, at least until next week when the new entry drops...but hey, it's still something!

Wizardy (1991 OVA) Commentary

Isaac and Caleb are back in the Basement, this time looking at a not particularly Oltra-Violent OVA, in the 1991 video game adaptation, Wizardy. Isaac brings in his second pick in our rekindling of the series, this time one that Caleb hadn't heard of previously. Have you heard of Wizardy? If so, join our hosts as they talk their way through it, and see if this piece of anime history deserves a bigger spotlight than it has.

Fist of Fury (1972) {Bruce Lee Series}

The Bruce Lee series kicks it's way back onto the feed as Caleb and Isaac return to discuss our sophomore entry in the Year of the Dragon, as they discuss the 1972 film, Fist of Fury. Lo Wei makes his return to the director's chair, kicking off an unlikely franchise covering the (fictional) legend of Chen Zhen, a character who would see several sequels, as well as a remake which received a spin-off and a sequel. 

 

Note from the editor: In the discussion Caleb claims that this character is either based on a legend, or is a legendary figure in his own-right: This is only partially true. The Master in the film was indeed real, but Chen Zhen is fictional, supposedly inspired by Liu Zhensheng, a student of the real life teacher Bruce Lee's character is avenging.

The Willows (1907) (The Book Club)

After a long delay, The Book Club returns to the TNE Feed, as Johnny, Isaac and Caleb return to discuss Johnny's second pick in the series, this time focused on the 1907 novella by Algernon Blackwood, The Willows. The Musical Series returns for it's second outing, this time focused on Isaac's pick of the 1999 direct to video film of the Tim Rice & Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
