How High We Go in the Dark (2022) (Book Discussion)
Monday Jun 06, 2022
Monday Jun 06, 2022
Brianna and Caleb return to the bar to discuss another book, and this time Brianna's chosen a more topical offering! Not only was this book released in the same year that we're recording our episode on it, but additionally, the story is centered on a topic that is still (somewhat) in the cultural zeitgeist. Sequoia Nagamatsu's sophomore release is a collection of short stories that all build into one overarching narrative, taking place over the course of several decades during a global pandemic.

Escape to Witch Mountain (Book and Movie Discussion)
Friday Apr 30, 2021
Friday Apr 30, 2021
The Novice Elitists once again jump into the realm of book coverage, as Caleb heads to the bar to discuss Alexander Key's 1968 novel Escape to Witch Mountain, as well as take a look at how it's 1975 film counterpart did at adapting the story. TNE cohort Isaac is once again absent, but have no fear listeners, as we have yet another new guest joining the roster! Brianna has long been mentioned on the podcast, and she finally joins the show to discuss one of her favorite films. (Although eagle-eared listeners might recall her voice from a certain stinger where she joined in on a discussion about the Hunchback of Notre Dame--although don't ask what episode that was on, cause I've got no clue)
Either way folks, grab a drink or two, sit back and relax, and listen in as your hosts discuss these two works of classic children's entertainment.
