The Exorcist (1973) (TNE Speakeasy)
Monday Mar 22, 2021
Monday Mar 22, 2021
Returning to the bar, Isaac is once again absent. Caleb's been sheltering him from the law, and hiding him in the bar basement. But to keep up the illusion, he's unfortunately gonna be absent for several episodes after this. (Minus next week, when we'll publish an episode from before his legal troubles began)
But luckily this week Eric has returned, and he's brought the second half of The Best Picture Podcast, Sean, to discuss another film from 1973. This time looking at one of the pillars of 70s horror, The Exorcist.

The Wicker Man (1973) (TNE Speakeasy)
Monday Mar 15, 2021
Monday Mar 15, 2021
Returning after a hiatus from the realm of horror cinema, Caleb heads back to the bar and once again TNE co-host Isaac has found himself absent from his usual spot at the table. Due to extenuating circumstances that I'm not legally allowed to share, Mr. Isaac has been forced to go on the run--ugh, I mean, take a brief sabbatical for some quiet meditation. So Mr. Eric from The Best Picture Podcast has yet again joined the show, and this time to discuss something not Godzilla related! That's right folks, it's time to turn our eyes back to the 70s and what better year to look at than 1973, with a cult sleeper hit staring horror icon Christopher Lee!
"Oh Mr. Description, could you possibly be covering the last Christopher Lee Dracula film, The Satanic Rites of Dracula?! (1973)" No, damn you! We're covering Robin Hardy's masterpiece occult horror flick, The Wicker Man! Now shut up and watch the film!
This discussion was filmed in front of a live bar-side audience on Feb. 23rd, 2021.

The Novice Elitists return to shark infested waters once again, but this time we've brought some back up with us. Friend of the show Johnny makes his follow-up on the show, as we once again watch a film with 3-D in the title. And if you're fan of shark related movies, stay tuned till the end for some spoilers on future shark related content coming down the podcast pipe line.

The Fog (1980) Commentary
Wednesday Sep 30, 2020
Wednesday Sep 30, 2020
Halloween time has arrived in The Novice Elitists Studios, and one of your hosts has mixed up a concoction of horror goodness for your blissful ears. It's been long told in the annuals of TNE history, that Caleb is a fan of water-centric films. And for the first of our Halloween Extravaganzas, he's been hard at work at his witches cauldron, preparing a list of four films all centered around the sea. The first of the four being John Carpenter's classic gothic sea-shanty, The Fog. So put on your gum boots and long necked sweaters, as we head off to a town by the sea, and a camp fire on the beach, as we swap ghost stories and wait for the fog to wash over us all.
